Stonington — A five-vehicle crash left two people injured and caused major delays on Interstate 95 south beginning late Tuesday morning.

Two people sustained minor injuries in the crash, which happened about 11 a.m. near Exit 90 in Mystic, according to state police. Both people were taken to Lawrence + Memorial Hospital for their injuries, but no further details were immediately available, police said.

At least one southbound lane remained close as of 1:30 p.m., police said, causing traffic to back up on the highway.

With vehicles getting off the highway and a disabled tractor-trailer on Route 27, traffic was backed up on roads in Mystic such as Pequot Trail.
