Massachusetts man fatally struck by tractor-trailer in Waterford
Waterford — A man from Massachusetts was fatally struck by a tractor-trailer here on Monday.
Luis E. Guzman, 29, of Roxbury, Mass., was walking on Interstate 95 near Exit 82A in Waterford about 1:59 a.m. Monday, when he was struck by the tractor-trailer, Connecticut State Police at Troop E in Montville said.
Guzman was walking south in the middle of the right lane on the highway when he was hit by the truck. He died as a result of his injuries, according to police.
The truck, owned by Ohio-based trucking company Forward Air, was being driven by 64-year-old Walter James Lunsford of Temple Hills, Md., police said. Lunsford was not injured in the crash.
The accident still was under investigation and any witnesses were asked to contact state police at (860) 848-6500, ext. 5052.
