Waterford — A man from Massachusetts was fatally struck by a tractor-trailer here on Monday.

Luis E. Guzman, 29, of Roxbury, Mass., was walking on Interstate 95 near Exit 82A in Waterford about 1:59 a.m. Monday, when he was struck by the tractor-trailer, Connecticut State Police at Troop E in Montville said.

Guzman was walking south in the middle of the right lane on the highway when he was hit by the truck. He died as a result of his injuries, according to police.

The truck, owned by Ohio-based trucking company Forward Air, was being driven by 64-year-old Walter James Lunsford of Temple Hills, Md., police said. Lunsford was not injured in the crash.
