New London — City police are investigating an incident involving two “Molotov cocktails” thrown toward a home at 50 Granite St.

According to a police news release, the incident took place shortly after 1 a.m. Thursday. When police were called to the scene, along with the New London Fire Department, “two incendiary devices, ‘Molotov cocktails,’ were located" and other evidence items were seized, the release said.

“An area of grass was burned” and “a scorch mark was discovered on the exterior wall of the structure” on Granite Street, the release continues. Minor damage to the structure was observed, but no one inside the building was injured in the incident.
