Norwich police: victim hit in the face with beer bottle
Norwich — Police said a victim sustained "significant facial trauma" after being struck in the face with a beer bottle during a disturbance in the ArtSpace Norwich apartments parking lot.
Police said Backus Hospital notified them at 5:07 a.m. Monday that it had a patient with injuries, which are non life threatening, from "an unknown object."
Police investigated and believe several people, including the victim, were drinking in the parking lot at 35 Chestnut St. "and a disturbance ensued." The victim "was struck in the face and lacerated with a beer bottle," police said.
Police said they are continuing to investigate who the perpetrator or perpetrators are.
Police also said it is an isolated incident and "public safety is not at risk."
