Two taken to hospital after Thursday crash on Gold Star Bridge
A crash on Interstate 95 north about 4:30 p.m. Thursday sent two people to the hospital and backed up traffic between Exit 81 in Waterford and Exit 85 in Groton.
On Friday, state police said one of its detectives and a cruiser were involved in the accident.
The Connecticut Department of Transportation said in a travel alert that traffic was congested due to a three-vehicle crash between exits 83 and 85. The crash closed the two left lanes.
New London Fire Department Battalion Chief Jeffrey Rheaume said two people from the same vehicle were taken to Lawrence + Memorial Hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening.
