    H.S. roundup: Stonington boys beat Ledyard in double overtime

    Ledyard — Luke Lowry scored 26 points as Stonington outlasted Ledyard 81-78 in a boys’ basketball double overtime thriller on Tuesday night.

    The Bears are 4-6.

    James Green led the Colonels (0-10) with 24 points.

    In other games:

    • Devan Williams scored 21 points and was one of four New London players to hit double figures as the Whalers cruised to an 80-37 non-conference win over Harding. Da’Shaun Phillips and SaVahn Warren added 14 points apiece for New London (7-2) and Nakhyn Davis scored 10.

    • Luke Grimord scored 30 points and Bacon Academy defeated Waterford for the first time since 2014 with a 42-32 victory. Grimord made four 3-pointers in the first quarter to give the Bobcats (4-6) the lead for good. Juan Morel Jr. had 10 points and 12 rebounds for the Lancers (3-8).

    • Jordan Jackson scored 30 points as Prince Tech defeated Norwich Tech 78-58. John Mastorakis had 12 points and 17 rebounds and Bradley Saint Louis had 12 points and 15 rebounds for the Warriors (2-8) while Jack Gahrman added 12 points and Josh Hanks had 10 points and nine rebounds.

    • Goodwin Tech defeated Grasso Tech, 54-45. Caleb Brennan scored 22 points to lead the Eagles (2-8).

    Girls’ basketball

    • Lucy Walker scored 25 points and Waterford defeated Griswold 59-32. Julia Knowles had 12 points, six steals and four assists for the Lancers (3-6). Griswold is 3-7.

    • Marissa Nudd tied her career high with 29 points and No. 7 Bacon Academy defeated Stonington 78-28. Emily Ferrigno had 15 for the Bobcats (11-0) Alannah Baehr had 14 and Katelyn Novak 12 points, six rebounds, six assists and five steals. Stonington is 2-8.

    • Abby Butremovic had 13 points and 12 steals as Wheeler defeated Tourtellotte 32-16 in an Eastern Connecticut Conference Division IV game. Makayla Delzer had nine rebounds for the Lions (3-6, 1-3).

    • Sophie Byrne scored 10 points to lead Grasso Tech in a 32-29 win over Goodwin Tech. Jami Montes added eight for the Eagles (2-7).

    • Autumn Hanks scored a game-high 36 points as Norwich Tech defeated Prince Tech 52-37. Olivia Luurtsema scored 10 for Norwich Tech (4-7).

    • Valley Regional defeated Old Lyme 76-25 in the Shoreline Conference. Ava Roth led the Wildcats (1-9, 1-7) with eight points.
