The St. Bernard boys and New London girls will play the final two games of the CIAC’s basketball championship weekend at Mohegan Sun Arena.

The CIAC announced its two-day, 10-game schedule Thursday morning with the Whalers and Saints earning prime-time status on Sunday night.

Top-seeded St. Bernard will play No. 7 Staples in the Division II boys’ final at 6:15 p.m., and No. 6 New London will play No. 4 Mercy in the Class MM girls’ final at 8:15.

The Whalers haven’t played since defeating No. 7 Wolcott 62-36 in the semifinals on Monday. The Saints beat No. 4 Xavier 76-53 on Wednesday night.

Following is the entire weekend schedule:

Saturday — Class M girls: No. 1 East Hampton vs. No. 3 Valley Regional, 10 a.m.; Division V boys: No. 1 Windsor Locks vs. No. 6 Shepaug Valley, 12:30 p.m.; Class S girls: No. 10 NW Catholic vs. No. 16 Kolbe Cathedral, 3 p.m.; Class LL girls: No. 1 Hamden vs. No. 2 Fairfield Ludlowe, 6:15 p.m.; Division I boys: No. 1 East Catholic vs. No. NW Catholic, 8:15 p.m.

Sunday — Division IV boys: No. 1 Cromwell vs. No. 3 Ellington, 10 a.m.; Class L girls: No. 1 Pomperaug vs. No. 3 E.O. Smith, 12:30 p.m.; Division III boys: No. 1 Bloomfield vs. No. 2 Waterbury Career, 3 p.m.; Division II boys: No. 1 St. Bernard vs. No. 7 Staples, 6:15 p.m.; Class MM girls: No.4 Mercy vs. No. 6 New London, 8:15 p.m.

H.S. swimming

• St. Bernard senior Alex Gonzalez placed in two events during the Class S championships at Southern Connecticut State University. Gonzalez finished sixth in the 200-yard individual medley (2:06.78) and seventh in the 100 breaststroke (1:02.14).

College swimming

• Connecticut College sophomore Justin Finkel finished ninth in the 200 freestyle at the NCAA Championships in Greensboro, N.C., breaking his own school record when he won the consolation final in 1:36.35. His time was faster than all but the top two finishers in the championship final.

College softball

• Mitchell College finished its season-opening trip to Florida by defeating Alfred State 4-2 and Nazareth 5-3 in Naples. Emily Reynolds struck out nine in the opener and Katelyn Lipsky improved to 4-1 in the win over Nazareth. Jenna Bennett and Griswold’s Sarah Aviles drove in runs for the Mariners (7-3) against Alfred while Gemma Landry and Hannah Lemke each had three hits against Nazareth and Brooke Whitmarsh drove in three runs.

College baseball

• UConn split a doubleheader with CCBC Dundalk, losing the opener 10-9 in 10 innings before capturing the second game 9-5. Tyler Rice was 2-for-4 with a double, home run and 3 RBI in the opener and Malcolm Mention went 3-for-5 with 2 RBI. In the second game, Rice was 3-for-5 with an RBI and Riley Carew added two hits.

• Montville’s Dougie DelaCruz became Mitchell’s career leader in home runs when he belted a solo homer during the first game of a doubleheader split with Minnesota-Morris on Wednesday in Davenport, Fla. The Mariners lost that game 2-1 before winning the second game 8-0.

DelaCruz now had 19 career home runs, passing Jeff Perillo’s 18. East Lyme’s Owen Robbins had a pair of hits in the opener for Mitchell before Tyler Daly pitched a complete game shutout in the second game, scattering four hits and striking out seven. Bo Yaworski homered in the second game and New London’s Lelo Martinez doubled and drove in two runs.

Men’s tennis

• Conn College ended its spring trip with a 7-2 win over SUNY Oneonta in Orlando, Fla. Jules Taylor-Kerman, Walker Mulligan and James Serhant III posted wins in single and doubles for the Camels, Mulligan and Serhant teaming up to win at No. 3 doubles to improve to 5-1.

Women’s tennis

• Conn College defeated SUNY Oneonta 6-3 to end a perfect 3-0 spring trip in Orlando, Fla. The Camels won five of six singles matches including straight-set wins by Caitlin Cass, Courtney Banks, Lily Kerrachsky and Caroline Champa.
