Local roundup: Stonington blanks Ledyard in boys’ soccer
Stonington — Stonington beat Ledyard 3-0 in an Eastern Connecticut Conference Division II boys’ soccer game on Tuesday night.
Hagen Drake, Sal Alessio and Ethan Cabrera scored goals, Joseph Goulart and Jace Wolfradt had assists and Nick Cannella made two saves for the Bears (2-2, 1-0). Paolo Templeton made four saves for Ledyard (1-1-1, 0-1).
In other games:
• Troy Johnson scored midway through the second half and Bacon Academy edged Waterford, 1-0, in ECC Div. II. Zach Carroll made five saves for the Bobcats (2-0-1, 1-0). Waterford is 1-2-1, 0-1.
• Blake Weitknecht scored for Norwich Tech in its 2-1 loss to Ellis Tech in the CTC. Norwich Tech is 0-1-1, 0-1.
• Wyatt Hayes, Darius Torres and Zach Paige scored two goals apiece and Wheeler defeated Tourtellotte 9-2 in ECC Div. IV. The Lions are 1-2, 1-0.
• Montville and Killingly played to a scoreless tie. Jayden Burrell made two saves for the Wolves.
• Grasso Tech lost to Windham Tech 2-0 in a CTC game.
H.S. field hockey
• Lily Gibson scored three goals as East Lyme beat Fitch 6-0 in an ECC game. Gracie Lloyd had a goal and two assists and Kate Erickson and Lauren Gault scorded for the Vikings (1-2, 1-0). Sophia Gibson had two assists and Mia Lloyd had an assist for East Lyme.
• Katie Jamroga and Hannah Carter scored two goals apiece as Waterford blanked Woodstock Academy, 7-0, kin an ECC game. The Lancers are 3-1.
• Westbrook/Old Lyme beat Haddam-Killingworth 1-0 in the Shoreline Conference. Mirabel Rinker scored the goal and Brooke Ouelette had an assist for Westbrook/Old Lyme (1-2, 1-1).
College field hockey
• Connecticut College picked up its first win of the season, beating Wellesley 2--0 in a nonleague game. Bridget McGann scored both goals for the Camels (1-2).
Men’s soccer
• Conn College beat Salve Regina 5-0. Gavin Mpiana, Jack Kelesoglu, Alessandro Horvath Diano, Marco Perugini and Caleb Huang scored goals and Peter Silvester made five saves for the Camels (2-1).
