    Local roundup: Vikings top Bears in boys’ soccer

    East Lyme — East Lyme swept the regular season series from Stonington, earning a 3-1 win in boys’ soccer on Thursday night.

    Callaway Scott, Max Montejano and Caleb Trost scored for the Vikings (6-0-1). Jonah Korinek scored for Stonington (3-4) with an assist from Jace Wolfradt. East Lyme beat Stonington 3-1 on Sept. 3.

    East Lyme’s Oliver Lopez and Stonington’s Nick Canella made six saves each.

    In other games:

    • Chris Baukus scored three goals and Montville blanked Tourtellotte, 8-0. Ryan Hochdorfer, Gio Garcia, Eli Klusek, Noah Keenan and Nolan Muncaster also scored for the Wolves (2-2-2).

    • Jack Dowrey, David Levanto and Luke Noonan scored for Wheeler during its 3-1 win over Wheeler. The Lions are (2-5). Tristan Lemire scored for the Wolverines (4-2).

    • Bacon Academy played to a 1-1 tie against Woodstock. Kaden Treat scored the lone goal for Bacon (4-1-1) and Zach Carroll made seven saves.

    • Blake Weitknecht scored twice and Norwich Tech blanked Goodwin Tech 5-0. Roman McElwee, Luke Weitknecht and Jake Arnio also scored for Norwich Tech (3-1-1).

    • Ben Crowe scored three times and Ledyard defeated New London, 3-1. Paolo Templeton made four saves for Ledyard (2-1-1).

    • Aidan Cass scored for St. Bernard during its 1-0 win over Fitch. The Saints are (6-0-1).

    H.S. field hockey

    • Kate Erikson scored two goals and Lily Gibson had a goal and an assist as East Lyme defeated Waterford 3-1. The Vikings are 4-2. Sarah Davidson scored for the Lancers (4-3).

    • Marina Lewandowski scored twice and Stonington defeated Killingly, 5-0. Lily Bellet, Hannah Lyon and Shay Burnside also scored for the Bears (5-1).

    • Izzy Ash scored two goals as Fitch beat Woodstock 6-1 in an ECC game on Wednesday. Elia St. Louis, Isabel Gustavson, Ada Ellis and Maggie Giulini scored goals, Julia Romano had an assist and Esme Carlebach made six saves for the Falcons (3-2, 2-2).

    H.S. girls’ soccer

    • Old Lyme defeated North Branford 9-0. Anna Bussman score two goals for the Wildcats (2-6).

    • Maya Terwilliger had a goal and two assists as Stonington beat Ledyard 3-0 in an ECC Division II game on Wednesday night. Finn O’Keefe and Gwen McGugan scored goals for the Bears (2-4, 1-1).

    • Ally Iacobellis had a pair of assists as Williams School beat Forman School 4-3 on Wednesday. Marlee Anselmi, Claire Butler, Sarah Harvey and Victoria Falkenstein scored for the Blues (2-0-1).

    H.S. volleyball

    • Fitch swept Killingly in an ECC Division II match. Abby Malone had six kills and eight digs, Natalie Helme had nine digs, Katie Virtue had eight kills and Emma Main had 15 assists for the Falcons (3-6, 1-1), who won 25-15, 25-15, 25-14.

    • Hale-Ray defeated Old Lyme 25-15, 25-21, 25-11. Maya LeQuire had seven kills and 21 digs and Kaylyn Vernon had eight assists for the Wildcats (2-6).

    • Wheeler beat Putnam in its ECC Division IV opener on Wednesday. Allison Needham had seven digs and four aces, Abby Butremovic had 33 digs and Addison Stanley had five blocks for the Lions (4-2).

    Women’s volleyball

    • Coast Guard defeated Mitchell 25-14, 25-8, 27-25. Amelia Matson had eight kills and Kaela France eight digs for the Bears.

    H.S. cross country

    • Williams School swept Watkinson and Christian Heritage in a meet on Wednesday. The Blues had both winners, with Jadiel Thomas winning the boys’ race and Lena Cosentino taking the girls’ race.

    • Mack Rodgers. Calvin LaFrance, Jonathan Patton and Connor Gingras placed in the top nine in the boys’ race and Alexa Pesarik, Carlie Burke, Sabine Balentine, Veronika Altamirano and Leah Reyes helping the girls’ team win.
