Let’s see. A new musical sold out its shows at the vaunted Edinburgh Fringe Festival as well as in London. Later on, it is scheduled to be staged in New York City.

But in between, it is playing here.

“No Love Songs’” is the musical, and it is getting its American premiere at Goodspeed Musicals’ Terris Theatre in Chester with a run that starts Friday.

In “No Love Songs,” Jessie and Lana fall in love and then quickly become pregnant. He is part of a band and is out touring when Lana suffers from postpartum depression. They then have to figure out how to handle their lives as parents. The roles will be played by Scotland-based actors John McLarnon and Anna Russell-Martin.

Goodspeed said the show, which features indie rock, “captures the essence of love and realities of early parenthood. “

“No Love Songs” grew from an idea by Kyle Falconer, who is the lead singer of the Scottish indie band The View, and his partner Laura Wilde, who is writing after taking time off to raise their three kids. Falconer created the songs for the show, and Johnny McKnight, who is a writer, director, dramaturge and performer, wrote the book.

“No Love Songs,” Terris Theatre, 33 North Main St., Chester; opens Friday and runs through Oct. 20; 2 and 7:30 p.m. Wed. and Thurs., 8 p.m. Fri., 3 and 8 p.m. Sat., and 2 p.m. Sun.; tickets start at $20; (860) 873-8668, goodspeed.org.
