Police investigate stabbing death of Connecticut teen

ENFIELD, Conn. — A 16-year-old boy has been stabbed to death in Connecticut and police are searching for a person of interest in the case, official said Monday.

The victim, Justin Brady, was stabbed in the front yard of a home in town just after midnight Monday, police Chief Alaric Fox said.

Fox said Brady knew the unnamed individual that police are seeking in the case but did not release a name.

Brady was a junior at Enfield High School, where he played football and basketball. He did not live at the address where the stabbing took place, police said.

Enfield High said on Twitter additional counseling staff will be available.

"We are very sad to learn that an EHS student passed away over the weekend," the school said. "Any students who need support should report to the career center or cafeteria where we will have additional counseling staff available for all students and staff."

Fox called the stabbing "isolated" and said there are no threats to the school or any other students.

Mayor Michael Ludwick called the death "just awful."
