Gov. Lamont to spend two weeks with family at Maine home

HARTFORD (AP) — Connecticut Gov. Ned Lamont is taking some personal time off to be with his family at their house in Maine.

The Democrat is scheduled to be out of state from Aug. 9-25.

Lamont's office says the governor plans to hold regular briefings during his vacation with his staff, agency commissioners and others via conference calls and email. He may also return to Connecticut intermittently, depending on responsibilities requiring him to be back in the state.

Lt. Gov. Susan Bysiewicz will be the state's acting governor when Lamont is out-of-state.

Former Democratic Gov. Dannel P. Malloy took shorter personal trips during his eight years in office, often combining them with official or political business.
