MILFORD (AP) — Several people were taken to a hospital after the boat they were riding in struck a break wall, police said.

The accident happened Saturday at about 9:30 p.m. near the Milford-Stratford border, according to Stratford police.

A Stratford police marine unit that was on patrol responded to a call and found eight people and a dog on board. Police said several people had head and neck injuries and were taken to the hospital.

Their conditions were not immediately known.
