Like all music that endures, hip hop has evolved in many interesting ways, crossing into virtually all styles (though I'm still waiting on Gregorian chant/rap).

In the meantime, two of Connecticut's finest hip hop visionaries are New London's Flowers & Kain and Hartford's Joey Batts & Them.

Each act fuses myriad influences and terrific live musicianship with fluid, clever rhyme and wordplay. That they're joining together for a show Friday in New London's Oasis Pub is perhaps the ideal post-feast activity for the gluttonous masses. Slumph off the couch, wipe the cranberry sauce off your replica Patriots jersey — and get thee to the Oasis. Expect dance, energy, freestyle lunacy and all-world fun.
