In an intriguing twist of influences, acoustic singer-songwriter Tiffany Gassett writes tunes that reflect not only the time-honored New England folk scene, but also the island rhythms and melodic flavors of the Caribbean. The perhaps unintentional result is an upbeat, poppy sound as on Gassett tunes like "I'm the One," "The Bed's Still Warm" and "Walk Away."

Formerly a member of the popular northeastern band Rising Tribe, Gassett embarked on a solo career a few years ago and now splits her time between Boston and Nashville. She's about to start on a new tour that brings her Saturday to Nightingale's Acoustic Café in Old Lyme. Expect old and new songs and a buoyant stage presence.
