Wyrd Brothers guest Thursday on "Live Lunch Break"

You know how it's clever, when a loutish barroom opiner is attempting to suggest someone or something is the epitome of a concept, to work the ol' "dictionary picture" trope? Stuff like:

"Hey, loser! You look up 'quarterback' in the dictionary, you're gonna see a picture of Mister Tom Brady!"

"I'll tell you what, snowflake, if you look up 'commie' in the dictionary, get ready for a group photo of the whole freakin' New York Times newsroom!"

In that spirit, we here in the headquarters of The Day's "Live Lunch Break" concert series would like to say that, if you look up the New Haven duo "Wyrd Brothers" in the dictionary, you'll see a photo of the word "eccentric."

Yep, these dudes — who've been making music together since Jim Morrison was walking on a SoCal beach and met Ray Manzarek — embrace all musical and lyrical ideas, and they proudly claim to sonically hop from Appalachian folk to Johnny Thunders. See it happen at noon today when LLB hosts the Wyrd Brothers. As always, the show takes place in New London's Telegraph Records.
