Ledyard man charged with child pornography
Matthew Wallace, 29, of Ledyard was arrested Thursday by members of the FBI's Computer Crime Task Force and charged with possession of child pornography.
Wallace, of Fairway Drive, appeared before a judge in Hartford and was released on a $100,000 bond that was co-signed by a family member.
According to a criminal complaint, a Milford police officer assigned to the computer crimes task force logged into a publicly available Internet file-sharing program and downloaded five images of child pornography from a shared directory maintained by Wallace. On May 28, 2010, law enforcement agents searched Wallace's residence and seized computers and hard drives.
Preliminary forensic examination of the seized items has revealed approximately 130 images and videos of children engaged in sexually explicit conduct, according to the U.S. Attorney's office.
