The Oakland Raiders signed one former Eastern Connecticut Conference all-star on Wednesday but lost another to season ending injury.
The Raiders signed former Waterford High School great and UConn offensive lineman Zach Hurd to the practice squad before placing NFA graduate Matt Shaughnessy on injured reserve with a shoulder problem.
Hurd was cut by Seattle in training camp and was looking for a team until this week. He was an all-Big East lineman at UConn.
