Mystic - The Residence Inn on Route 27 in Mystic has been sold for $10.7 million.
According to filings in Stonington Town Hall, Whitehall Mansion LLC of Waterford, which lists Mark Wolman as a representative, sold the hotel on May 8 to VII-HII Whitehall Avenue LLC, which lists one of its officials as Suril Shah of Greenwich.
Wolman and his brother Len operate the Waterford Hotel Group, which manages 30 hotels in nine states with 3,900 rooms including the Mystic Marriott in Groton, the Comfort Inn in Mystic and the Courtyard by Marriott in Norwich.
The Residence Inn, which is located at 40 Whitehall Ave., has 128 suites on three floors with an indoor pool and meeting space. When it opened in 1996, the former Whitehall Mansion was preserved and renovated into guestrooms. It is located at the entrance to the property which is just north of the Exit 90 off ramp of the southbound lanes of Interstate 95. The hotel is the town's seventh-largest taxpayer.
