Portuguese sub leaves Groton for voyage home

The Portuguese submarine NRP Tridente departs from the pier at the Naval Submarine Base in Groton on Friday for its trans-Atlantic return to Portugal. Commanded by Lt. Cmdr. Bruno Ricardo Amaral Henriques, the diesel electric with air independent propulsion submarine has a crew of 33. While in Groton, Tridente conducted sea trials to increase the crew's levels of operating readiness.
