2 terrorism suspects plead not guilty in Connecticut

New York (AP) — Radical preacher Abu Hamza al-Masri and two other terrorism suspects who fought for years to avoid facing charges in the United States are appearing in a New York court, hours after being extradited from Britain.

Khaled al-Fawwaz and Adel Abdul Bary pleaded not guilty Saturday afternoon. Al-Masri has not yet entered a plea.

Two other men extradited with them, Babar Hamad and Syed Talha Ahsan, pleaded not guilty in federal district court in Connecticut earlier Saturday. They are jailed until trial.

On Friday, Britain's High Court ruled the men had lost their grounds for appeal. They had been fighting extradition for eight to 14 years.
