Tracy Morgan takes to the Fox Theater stage

Last we saw Tracy Morgan, he was lying on the stage of the Emmys.

It was all shtick. Host Jimmy Kimmel had asked Morgan to lie down - and then Kimmel asked everyone watching to go on Facebook and Twitter and write, "OMG Tracy Morgan just passed out on stage at the Emmys. Turn ABC on now."

Oh, the power of social media! Shortly after Kimmel made that request, "OMG Tracy Morgan" had upwards of 54,000 tweets posted, and mentions of Morgan shot up 127,300 percent on Facebook.

It's a transitional year for Morgan, as he heads into the last season of "30 Rock." That sitcom, after all, transformed him from a "Saturday Night Live" also-ran into a sitcom luminary.

Even as he became a series star, Morgan didn't forgo his stand-up. In fact, he'll be doing a gig Saturday at Foxwoods' Fox Theater. But be clear that this isn't TV-friendly Tracy Jordan material. A notation says it's for "mature audiences" only. They aren't kidding. I saw Morgan in concert last year, and, yep, the warning is warranted.

Tracy Morgan,

8 p.m. Saturday, Fox Theater, Foxwoods Resort Casino, Mashantucket; $45-$65; 1-800-200-2882.
