While home prices are booming nationwide, Connecticut's uptick is meager. State home prices rose less than 1 percent between October of last year and the same month this year, placing Connecticut as the sixth worst performing state nationwide, according to new numbers from CoreLogic cited in The Commercial Record.
By comparison, national home prices trended up 6.3 percent year over year, the biggest boom since June 2006.
Illinois, Delaware, Rhode Island, New Jersey and Alabama were the only states in October performing worse than Connecticut in terms of real estate appreciation. Best performers were Arizona, Hawaii, Idaho, Nevada and North Dakota.
