You can be forgiven if, upon seeing the word Focus in an artistic context, you think of the immortal Dutch band fronted by Thijs Van Leer and his yodel-happy tune, "Hocus Pocus." On Friday, though, at the Essex Art Association, a new exhibition called "Focus" opens with a reception from 6-8 p.m. A juried show open to all artists over 18, "Focus" also features a special exhibit by Jean Dalton in the adjunct Exit Gallery.
