    Guard unit welcomed home from Afghanistan

    East Granby - A commercial aircraft carrying members of the Connecticut National Guard 1048th Transportation Company of Stratford landed at the Bradley Air National Guard Base in East Granby on Thursday as family and friends welcomed the soldiers with cheers.

    The 1048th Transportation Company deployed in September 2012 and while in Afghanistan provided transportation of dry and refrigerated containerized goods general non-containerized goods, bulk water and bulk petroleum products.
