Make a Difference: New England Adolescent Treatment Center

WHO: Ten boys ages 14 to 21

AGENCY: The New England Adolescent Treatment Center Inc. (NEAT)

THEIR SITUATION: Clients unable to live at home are placed with the agency by the state Department of Children and Families. They live at the home in Groton and participate in school and community activities. In addition to residential services, NEAT offers a life skills program. A vocational/educational/hobby shop gives residents a chance to learn basic automotive repair skills and other vocational and Internet skills. The boys also will fix up and donate a car to a needy family.

WHAT TO GIVE: Help outfit the hobby shop with new or used automotive equipment, tools and work benches. Donated cars are also sought.

TO DONATE: Call Tom Schuch, executive director, at (860) 961-3576. The agency can pick up any donations.
