Norwich – The Center for Hospice Care on Friday announced two new partners for its “Sneaker for a Buck” program.

Throughout the month of April, fourteen Liberty Bank locations and all five Jewett City Savings Bank locations will be raising funds to make hospice care available to all patients regardless of their inability to pay as well as provide bereavement counseling, free of charge, to anyone in New London County.

Employees at both banks will ask their customers to “purchase” a paper Sneaker for $1. The sneakers, which include space for honoring a loved one, will be displayed in each branch.

The “Sneaker for a Buck” program takes place in advance of Center for Hospice Care’s annual walk May 10 at Mohegan Park. Check-in will begin at 9 a.m. and the walk will start at 10 a.m. For information or to register, visit: hospicewalk.kintera.org/2014.
