New London — The Connecticut Housing Finance Authority will offer home buyer education classes on Saturdays in July, August and September.
The eight-hour classes, which will be held at Catholic Charities’s 28 Huntington St. office, will review how to determine if you are ready to buy a home, how to understand credit, and provide detailed coverage of all aspects of the home buying process, according to the CHFA.
For first-time homebuyers unfamiliar with the ongoing costs and requirements of homeownership, the class also will assist in planning a budget and a home maintenance schedule. In addition to the curriculum on the home-buying process, the class will also offer individualized financial credit and counseling sessions.
Classes will be held July 12, Aug. 9 and Sept. 6 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Most classes are offered free of charge.
