Wally Lamb, Doug Demicco to be honored as Norwich Italians of the Year
The Italian Heritage and Cultural Committee of Norwich will hold its annual Columbus Banquet on Sunday, Oct. 12 at 1 p.m. at the Groton Inn & Suites.
A buffet dinner of antipasto, pasta bar, beef, chicken breast, flounder, oven potatoes, vegetables, wine, coffee, spumoni, and Italian pastries will be served. The committee will honor the Italians of the year, Wally Lamb and Doug Demicco.
The Heritage & Cultural Committee selection committee selects recipients based on the following criteria: A person who lives in the greater Norwich area of Italian descent who has contributed to the progress and betterment of the community, who has demonstrated an understanding and belief in Italian culture and heritage and who has served the Italian community through deeds and action.
