State police arrest New Bedford, Mass., woman allegedly driving stolen vehicle

North Stonington — A New Bedford, Mass., woman was arrested Monday after an automatic license reader on a state police patrol vehicle detected that the car she was driving was stolen.
Dianne Dacosta, 59, was charged with third-degree larceny and driving a vehicle without a license.
State police said they arrested Dacosta during a traffic stop on Route 2. The license reader reported that the car was stolen from Rhode Island. The arrest happened at 6:26 p.m.
Dacosta was held on a $5,000, pending her arraignment Tuesday in New London Superior Court.
