Live Lunch Break hosts Billy Mitchell

From Ray Stevens to Jerry Reed to Weird Al, certain songwriters aim for comedy within the parameters of traditional song. Admittedly, it's a polarizing concept, but there are plenty of folks who love to laugh while they hum along.

On Thursday's "Live Lunch Break" episode, we host Rhode Island songwriter Billy Mitchell, who appears in support of his lighthearted and whimsical "Boomer Power - Original Songs About Boomer Experiences." Like many of us, Mitchell has reached the point in his Baby Boomer journey where there are no shortage of realities about which it could be said, "What are you gonna do? Might as well laugh about it!"

With song titles such as "Prescription Drugs," "Get Off of That Cell Phone" and "Assisted Livin'," Mitchell has clearly decided melodic humor is therapeutic. As always, we'll convene in the Telegraph Records Shop. Be ready to smile.
