Quilts of valor presentation held

Franklin — On Dec. 11, the Stitch Chicks Quilt Shop, Quilts of Valor group presented two local veterans with quilts of valor to thank them for their military service.

The quilts were given to Jerry Donat, a Vietnam veteran, who enlisted in the Army in 1969 and served three years, and Gary Uderstaedt, a U.S. Marine, who served in Vietnam and is a Purple Heart recipient.

Shop owner Deb Mackenzie said “it is an honor and a privilege to offer my space so our quilters are able to make quilts to thank our veterans in this way.”
