New London Main Street honors Fournier, Whipple

Renee Fournier has been named Board Member of the Year and Jordan Whipple Volunteer of the Year for New London Main Street.

Fournier, currently board president, first volunteered for the downtown organization in 1999. She and Penny Parsekian, then CEO of New London Main Street, went on to co-produce many events like Fish Tales, Tugs and Sails, which remains a signature New London event to this day.

Whipple appeared in the office at New London Main Street in early 2014 looking to be of service. He overhauled the group's online calendar of events, a critical tool for promoting the city.
