    Noteworthy:

--  This is UConn's final non-conference game. The Huskies are 7-4 outside of of league play.

-- Stanford has won captured six of its last seven game. UConn is 3-1 in its last four.

-- Series: UConn leads 4-1, losing last meeting, 53-51, Dec. 19, 2013 in Hartford. Randle led all scorers with 22 and Huskies shot 31.7 percent and blew a 10-point halftime lead.

    -- UConn is 21-4 all-time vs. Pac-12 schools.

-- Common foes: Texas (UConn lost 55-54, Stanford won 74-71 OT), Duke (UConn lost 66-56, Stanford lost 70-59).

-- Boatright (East Aurora) and Randle (Rock Island) shared the Mr. Basketball of Illinois award in high school.

Both players made the Wooden Award Mid-season top 25 list.

-- Randle is a Pac-12 player of the year candidate. He's the program's career leader in three point field goals and ranks third on the all-time scoring list.

-- Injury update: Stanford starter Reid Travis (out, stress fracture).

-- Stat to watch: Stanford shoots 39.8 percent from three.

-- The 245-pound Nastic will be a physical challenge for UConn's big men. It might mean more playing time for 6-8, 260-pound freshman Rakim Lubin.

-- Hot: UConn reserve guard Terrence Samuel is coming off a career-high 12-point effort.

Cold: UConn is 25-for-48 (52 percent) from foul line in last three games.

-- Purvis needs to contribute more on the offensive end. The Huskies are 5-0 when Purvis scores in double figures.

-- Coach Kevin Ollie vowed to make changes after a sluggish start contributed to a loss at Tulsa. Let's see what moves he makes today. Could there be a change in the starting lineup?

-- In their only other visit to Stanford, the Huskies scored one of their most memorable road wins during Jim Calhoun's coaching era.

Playing without injured star Richard Hamilton, UConn beat Stanford, 70-59, on Feb. 6, 1999. The hostile crowd rode Khalid El-Amin throughout the game. He silenced them wth a terrific performance.

An exhausted and dehydrated Kevin Freeman collapsed after the game. He was sick on the flight all the way home.

The Huskies went on to win their first national championship.

It was a real treat to cover that game.

-- Up  next: UConn hosts Central Florida Thursday in Storrs
