Man injured in Colchester home invasion

Colchester — State police are investigating a home invasion early this morning in which a local man was assaulted by two men who duct taped his wrists and stole money.

Police said that at 4:56 a.m. this morning they received a 911 call from Tevin Nanfito, 20, of 44 Main St., who reported that two men wearing ski masks has entered his apartment and assaulted him.

Police said Nanfito was pulled out of bed by two men wearing black masks who demanded, “Give me everything you got” and “Give it up”. One of the men was armed with a knife. Police said Nanfito’s wrists were duct taped and he led the assailants to his money. A small amount of marijuana was also taken from the house.

He was then thrown to the ground and hit in the head several times “with something other than a fist.”

Police said Nanfito suffered multiple lacerations to the head consistent with blunt force trauma and a laceration to his right bicep. He initially refused medical treatment but was later transported to the Marlborough Clinic for treatment.

The suspects are described as white, approximately five feet, nine inches to six foot, one inch tall with small to medium builds. They were wearing black or dark colored clothing and jeans and one was wearing dark colored “Skate” shoes. The pair left in a vehicle that was parked behind the apartment located above a consignment business. Police believe the vehicle exited the parking area and took a right onto Cragin Court. Anyone with information is asked to contact Troop K at (860) 465-5400.
