New London – Police on Tuesday arrested a New London man on charges he sexually assaulted a young girl on multiple occasions over the course of four months.

Frank Jimenez, 26, of 69 West St., No. 3, was charged by warrant with first-degree sexual assault, two counts of fourth-degree sexual assault and three counts of risk of injury to a minor.

Police first received a complaint about the sexual assaults from a juvenile on Feb. 13. Detectives investigated the case.

The girl reported being sexually assaulted on different dates and times between October 2014 and January 2015. The girl underwent a specialized forensic interview and detailed the assaults and abuse she endured, police said.

Police said Jimenez is known by the victim and her family.

Jimenez was held on lieu of a $500,000 bond and due to appear Wednesday in New London Superior Court.
