Ledyard man extradited from Massachusetts to face charges in stabbing on Mashantucket Pequot reservation

Ledyard — A Ledyard man was extradited Thursday from Webster, Mass., to face charges of stabbing another man in February on the Mashantucket Pequot reservation.

Nicholas Harris, 22, of 59 Coachman Pike was charged with first-degree assault and risk of injury to a minor. He was expected to be arraigned Friday in Superior Court in New London and was being held on a $50,000 bond.

Police said they responded about 12:50 a.m. on Feb. 8 to a residence on Coachman Pike for a report of a serious assault. Tribal police and state police responded and found an unidentified male victim with multiple stab wounds.

Police said that same day they identified Harris as a suspect.

Police said he fled to Webster, Mass., where U.S. Marshals took him into custody on March 24.
