Proposed income fix would worsen problem

Income gap fixes; President Obama has indeed done all he can to spread the wealth (redistribution of wealth). This is also the basic premise of socialism. To address the four points in the letter, “Suggestions for fixing the big income gap,” (June 15):

    1) Raising the minimum wage enough to address inequality would increase the costs of services to mostly the middle class through higher consumer prices.

    2) Government make-work jobs are expensive and are paid for by raising the mational debt since we don't have the money to pay for them. This is the kind of thinking that brought us the $18 trillion debt we have.

    3) Low-cost or free college education is another way to increase our debt. Nothing is free. This is true in the other countries where the taxes are 40 percent or higher to support their mostly socialist government services and those on the dole.

    4) Right-to-work should be the right of everyone in this country. No one should be forced to join a union in order to work. If unions are so great, there would never be a law requiring membership to work. Of course wages are higher with unions. We all pay for those higher wages.
