    Dan Cahill of Mystic has been appointed Restaurant Manager of The Irons restaurant at The Mystic Hilton, 20 Coogan Blvd. Prior to joining The Irons, Cahill served as restaurant manager at the Harbour House at the Inn at Mystic. From 2010 to 2014 Cahill served as area director and general manager of Bobby’s Burger Palace. Before moving to the Connecticut area Cahill began his career in the restaurant industry by working for Brew Moon Restaurant and Brewery in Boston.

    The Chamber of Commerce of Eastern CT will host a panel discussion on “Building Business with Tax Increment Financing” Wednesday, Oct. 12, 7:30-9 a.m. at the Hilton Garden Inn, 224 Gold Star Highway, Groton.     The National Society of Accountants is offering a two-day Gear Up 1040 Individual Tax Seminar Nov. 10-11 at the Mohegan Sun Casino and Resort. This course covers key tax issues for completing complicated individual returns. All topics include coverage of new legislation and extenders, revenue rulings and procedures, as well as case law to help the busy practitioner keep current.

    The course offers 16 hours of continuing professional education, including 13 hours of tax education plus three hours of tax updates.

    RECOGNITION

    Rite-Solutions, Inc., which has offices in Pawcatuck, has retained its status as a Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI) Level 3 organization.     Ann Irr Dagle, President of the Brian T. Dagle Memorial Foundation, has been trained as a QPR Instructor with the QPR Institute of Spokan, Washington. QPR is an emergency mental health intervention for suicidal persons created in 1995 by Paul Quinnett. QPR, an abbreviation for Question, Persuade and Refer, is also intended to identify and interrupt the crisis and direct that person to the proper care.
