Hypocrisy most tawdry follows Trump tape

Here is hypocrisy at its most tawdry. Donald Trump says he will build a wall that will keep Mexicans out, and make Mexico pay for it; supports nuclear proliferation; categorically denies entry to the U.S. by Muslims; says global warming is a hoax; says Vladimir Putin is a better leader than Barak Obama; says he will defeat ISIS by bombing the s*** out of them; says he is much smarter than the generals; says more damaging and dangerous things than The Day’s limited word count can accommodate. All to a chorus of Republican approvals and endorsements.

And then, Oct. 1, The Washington Post delivers an 11-year-old tape of Trump making an adolescent remark about women, “And when you’re a star they let you do it. Grab them by the p***y. You can do anything.” In the face of which Republican leadership explodes into shock, outrage, moral indignation, and a tsunami of withdrawn endorsements.

“Obama is not my president, NATO is obsolete.”— Donald Trump

“We need the change he will bring.”— Paul Ryan

“Grab them by the p***y”— Donald Trump

“I can no longer defend or campaign for him.”—Paul Ryan

It doesn’t get more tawdry than that.
