Ledyard police charge four men for throwing rocks at home and then fleeing

Ledyard — Police arrested four men Monday afternoon who they say tried to make a resident leave a home at 1981 Route 12 for a confrontation. When the resident refused to leave, "rocks were thrown at the residence causing damage," police said.

According to the police report, the four men then left scene. When police located them in the area of Cardinal Lane, three got out of a vehicle and ran into a wooded area. They were briefly chased by police before being taken into custody.

Police charged Mekhi K. Westbrook, 19, of 7R Thompson St. with breach of peace and third-degree criminal mischief.

Alexander J. Santana, 29, of 58 Depot Road, Uncasville, Ledyard; Jevane K. Watson, 20, of 324 Boswell Ave, Norwich, and Nathan A. Smith, 18, of 324 Boswell Ave., Norwich, were each charged with breach of peace, third-degree criminal mischief and interfering with a police officer.

They were released on a $250 cash bond and are scheduled to appear at New London Superior Court on Tuesday, according to police.
