    Two face assault charges in Norwich domestic violence incident

    Norwich – Two people face assault and other charges stemming from a domestic violence incident early Tuesday morning on Manwaring Avenue, police said.

    Corine Barrington, 62, of 2 Manwaring Ave., Apt. 1 was charged with first-degree assault and disorderly conduct and was held on a $25,000 bond. Ronald Bendixen, 60, of 265 Norwich-New London Turnpike, Uncasville was charged with third-degree assault, second-degree strangulation and disorderly conduct. He was held on a $10,000 bond. Both were arraigned in Norwich Superior Court Tuesday.

    Police said the domestic violence incident occurred at 4:25 a.m. Tuesday and Barrington allegedly stabbed a male victim with a broken piece of glass, causing two lacerations on his neck, one cut being 1 centimeter deep above his left collarbone. He was treated and released at the William W. Backus Hospital.

    Police would not specify whether Bendixen was the victim in the incident.
