The newly named Chestnut Street Playhouse (former Spirit of Broadway Theater) will hold auditions for its first musical of the 2015 season, “The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee” by William Finn and Rachel Sheinkin, on Friday, June 12 from 4 to 10 p.m. Auditions will take place at the theater at 24 Chestnut St. in Norwich. Interested actors age 15 through adult should contact CSPauditions@gmail.com to schedule an audition time. This production is directed by Kyle Reynolds with musical director Kelly Sharp. The production will begin rehearsals July 6 and be performed August 13 to 23 at The Chestnut Street Playhouse.

Actors are asked to prepare two songs in the style of the show 32 bars each and bring accompanying sheet music, and an acting resume with a headshot.
