Comedy in Westerly with Granite Theatre's 'Shakespeare in Hollywood'

The summer might be time for Shakespeare productions in the park, but at the Granite Theatre, it's also time for "Shakespeare in Hollywood."

The Westerly venue is presenting the Ken Ludwig comedy through July 19, with a matinee at 2 p.m. on Sunday. The story is set among 1930s film actors, who are magically joined by two of Shakespeare's characters.

These conjured characters happen to be the fairies Oberon and Puck, and the production happens to be a version of "A Midsummer Night's Dream." Oberon and Puck end up cast as, well, themselves, and hijinks ensue.

Tickets are $20 ($17 for ages 62 and up, $12 for children). Call (401) 596-2341 or visit granitetheatre.com.
