Iconic Roomful of Blues visits New London's Hygienic Art Park

    Live at The Ocean Mist

We're not trying to suggest Roomful of Blues have sturdy and inspired longevity or anything. But consider these tidbits about the iconic Westerly swing/blues act:

    • They've released 19 studio albums on nine different respected record labels.

    • Almost 60 musicians and singers have claimed membership over time.

    • In a musical genre where nicknames are important, men called "Porky," "Duke," "Doc," "Junior," "Sugar Ray," "Mac" and "Mister Low" have all played in ROB.

    • The band is synonymous with Westerly's Knickerbocker Café — one of the most iconic blues clubs in the world.

    • Forty-eight years after the band started, Roomful continues to tour globally at a pace that would shame most 20-year-old metal or punk bands.

    • Count Basie called Roomful "the hottest blues band I've ever heard."

    • You won't have to travel far to experience the greatness. On Saturday, Roomful of Blues headlines in New London's beautiful Hygienic Art Park. Bank Street will freakin' percolate.
