A tip of the fedora to Sinatra: Robert Davi sings at Foxwoods

Robert Davi has developed a whole second career, after playing such roles as drug lord Franz Sanchez battling James Bond in "License to Kill" and FBI agent Bailey Malone in NBC's "Profiler."

The actor's new gig? He's become a respected singer. It's actually a return, since he sang in his younger years; he won the New York State School Music Association Solo Competition at age 15 and studied with teachers who also trained Juilliard students and opera performers.

And, hey, Davi's "Goonies" Jake Fratelli did sing opera, didn't he?

Davi's first album was 2011's "Davi Sings Sinatra — On the Road to Romance," which made its way into the top 10 of Billboard's jazz charts. It's kind of poetic that Sinatra's music was the focus of Davis' debut CD, since his first movie gig was with Sinatra in "Contract on Cherry Street."

He's taken his songs on the road, and he'll be performing Saturday at Foxwoods' Grand Theater.

All this doesn't mean Davi has abandoned acting. He still takes on roles, as he did for last year's "The Expendables 3."

Robert Davi, 8 p.m. Saturday, Foxwoods' Grand Theater; $55; 1-800-200-2882.
