    Chelsea Groton gets lending-office OK

Chelsea Groton Bank has received state approval to open a lending office in Glastonbury.

The Groton-based bank's first Lending Production Office will allow an expansion of its services in Hartford County.

"Having lending personnel based in this contiguous market will help us to more successfully conduct business in an area we have been for some time," Michael Rauh, president of Chelsea Groton, said in a statement.

The bank said its previous business dealings in Hartford and Middlesex counties have primarily resulted from references given by satisfied customers.

The bank said it still needs to purchase an office and fully staff it.
