Pride 2015 in New London kicks off Saturday

OutCT is holding its summer pride festival on Saturday and Sunday at two venues in New London.

Saturday’s events at Hygienic Art Park, 83 Bank St., run from 5 to 10 p.m. and include an opening ceremony that will be led by the Hartford Gay Men’s Chorus. The day also will feature live music, including ArleneWow!, a drag contest, a Pride Idol contest and headliner dance pop duo XELLE. Festivities are open to all ages.

Pride events continue Sunday on the boardwalk at New London’s Ocean Beach Park from noon to 5 p.m.

Activities are open to the public with the goal of celebrating a community that honors and recognizes the diverse spectrum of gender identities and sexual orientations.
