New photos at Woolworth Library show historic hurricanes
The Stonington Historical Society recently added new historic photographs to the Woolworth Library collection. The photographs depict the aftermath of several hurricanes in the Stonington area, including the 1938 hurricane. The photographs were donated to the library by the Johnstone family.
The society will work to expand its collection and encourages residents to share photographs of historic hurricanes. To share photos, send digital or hard copies to development@stoningtonhistory.org or The Stonington Historical Society, P.O. Box 103, Stonington, CT 06378.
The Woolworth Library is at 40 Palmer St., Stonington, and is open Friday and Saturdays from 2 to 5 p.m.
