Take the Penguin Plunge at Misquamicut

The ninth annual "Penguin Plunge" to support the WARM Center will be held on New Year's Day at The Andrea, 89 Atlantic Ave., Misquamicut Beach, Westerly. The plunge will start at noon.

The WARM center is a 19-bed emergency shelter and soup kitchen serving southern Rhode Island and southeastern Connecticut.

Registration for plunge begins at 10:30 a.m. Register in advance at www.warmcenter.org or by calling Joy Cordio at (401) 596-9276. The registration fee is $20 and includes a T-shirt. Costumes are welcome, and water shoes advised.
